Follow Annabel on a fun-filled beach day where every wave, giggle, ice cream, hug, little problem and life's ordinary moments are a gift to be cherished.
This book remembers Annabel - a bright and brilliant little girl who brought fun and love during her three and a half years, making people smile then and now.
Annabel loved football boots and painted nails, tractors and sparkly makeup - "a lad and a lady all rolled into one."
"Winkle, winkle, our brightest star — we love you forever." - Enda, Eileen, Senan, T.J. and Isla
The story opens with the excitement of a family setting off for a day at the seaside. “Wow,” gasped Annabel when they arrived. “Look at the big waves.”

The children dug "the biggest, widest, deepest hole in the sand" while Mammy and Daddy rested. They jumped over it, ran around it, and sat in it.
When Annabel's sandcastle didn't turn out right, Daddy jumped up to help. Together they built an amazing castle with a channel around it.
Just as they finished their masterpiece, a dog ran through their sandcastle, destroying it. Everyone felt sad until Daddy returned with five blue bubblegum ice-creams.

After a fun day of adventure Mammy sang softly, Twinkle, twinkle, little star... and Annabel's thoughts drifted afar.
So hug them and kiss them And tuck them in tight. And remember it's a gift to wish them goodnight.
Written by Eileen Loughlin and illustrated by Julie-Ann Carroll, this story was inspired by family trips to beaches in Ireland, Spain & Portugal - particularly a day spent in Salthill, County Galway.
